Tori Abe Carapelho

Tori Abe Carapelho is President and Chief Executive Officer of Navian Hawaii, formerly Hospice Hawaii.

She oversees the operations of the non-profit organization including strategic planning, program development, quality improvement, staff relations, financial performance, and professional development. Most recently, she served as Chief Strategy Officer at Navian Hawaii, overseeing marketing and fundraising, admissions, leadership, special projects and strategy development. 

Prior to joining Navian Hawaii in 2008, Carapelho was Vice President of Marketing & Business Development for Hawaii Pacific Entertainment. She also previously held positions with Destination Marketing Hawaii, KHON-TV and Starr Seigle McCombs. 

Active in professional organizations, Carapelho serves as Vice President on the board of directors for Kokua Mau, and is a member of the Hospice Leadership Committee for the Healthcare Association of Hawaii, the Counsel of States for NHPCO, and the State Health Planning & Development Agency’s Honolulu Subarea Committee. She is also a 2018 Pacific Century Fellow.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Carapelho holds a Master’s degree in business administration from Hawaii Pacific University and a Bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.


Rachael Wong, DRPH

Rachael Wong is the founder of One Shared Future (OSF), which imagines a positive future for Hawai‘i and brings people together to collectively create that future. OSF offers community-building professional development programs that strengthen the public, private, and non-profit sectors’ capacity to partner and innovate.  

She is also the co-founder of the Safe Spaces & Workplaces Initiative (SSWP), an OSF-Child & Family Service partnership to end workplace sexual harassment in Hawai‘i through collaboration.

Rachael is born and raised in Hawai‘i and has dedicated her career to improving quality of life for others: as director of the State of Hawai‘i Department of Human Services, where she led the creation of the state’s ʻOhana Nui multigenerational framework; in nonprofit leadership roles at the Healthcare Association of Hawai‘i, Kōkua Mau, and the Hawaiʻi Consortium for Integrative Care; and now through OSF and SSWP. 

She earned a bachelor’s degree in East Asian studies and certificate in women’s studies from Princeton University, a master’s degree in public health from UH-Mānoa, and a Doctorate in Public Health from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Dr. Angela Pratt

Angela is the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kapi’olani Medical Center, the Clinical Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery and a Clinical Assistant Professor at John A. Burns School of Medicine where she is a dedicated teacher. She also has her own private practice and is the cofounder of Hawaii Beauty and Wellness Center.

With her work in advancing women’s health, she has many titles and has received numerous accolades including Honolulu Magazine’s Doctor of the Year, Best Doctors in America, and also has been featured on Good Morning America promoting women’s health.

In 2019, Dr. Pratt received the prestigious O’O Award from the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce for all of her accomplishments and in 2017, she created the “Angela Pratt Endowment”, a contribution that will help further faculty, student, and resident training on neighbor islands and research in Native Hawaiian Women’s Health.

Dr. Pratt has also been involved with the dynamic “Girls Got Grit” mentorship program for where she is a Mentor to female students (10-12 grade) of Sacred Hearts Academy (the largest all girl school on the island). For the 2018 “GGG” program, she led her team of students who took top honors in their presentation of “International Diversity”.


Iris Y. Matsumoto

Iris Matsumoto serves as Executive Vice President, Human Resources for First Hawaiian Bank and is a member of the Bank’s Senior Management Committee.

In her current role, she is responsible for leading First Hawaiian Bank’s overall human resources strategy and preserving the bank’s unique culture of positive engagement with its more than 2,000 employees, overseeing talent acquisition, building leadership capability, organizational design and cultural development, employee engagement, succession management, compensation and benefits, HR operations and technology and employee relations.

Iris joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1998 as Vice President, Compensation and Benefits where she managed the Bank’s general and executive compensation and benefits strategies for employees located within the State of Hawaii, Continental U.S., Guam and Saipan.

Under her leadership, First Hawaiian Bank was named one of Hawaii Business magazine’s Best Places To Work employer for ten consecutive years. This distinction is based on employee ratings of their workplace culture, including the pride they take in their jobs, the camaraderie they experience with co-workers and the level of trust they feel toward their leaders.

Throughout her 40-year career, Iris has held senior leadership roles in the financial services, airline, retail, diversified agriculture industries for internationally based companies, working extensively across different cultures.

She currently serves on the Boards of First Hawaiian Foundation and Help, Understanding and Group Support (HUGS). Iris holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
